Rupture of the interventricular septum complicating an acute myocardial infarction is an infrewuent, but often lethal complication. A clearer understanding of the mechanism of ventircular septal defect has permitted improvements in surgucal techniques. The surgical repair of three cases of ventricular septal perforation after acute myocardial infarction is reported.
