Bronchopleural fistula is a common and challenging complication after lung resections. Rethoracotomy, stump revision, thoracoplasty, myoplasty, transpericardial stump revision, fibrin glue, stent applications, contralateral thoracotomy are treatment alternatives. In this article, two patients were treated with contralateral thoracotomy for bronchopleural fistula after left pneumonectomies. We discussed also common reasons and treatment alternatives of post-pneumonectomic bronchopleural fistula under the light of the recent literature.
