The incidence of left ventricular myocardial rupture following mitral valve replacement is 1-2%. Although it is a rare entity, its mortality is approximately 50%. This report presents a case of type 3 left ventricular myocardial rupture following a mitral valve replacement repaired successfully by Dacron patch and cyanoacrylate application.
