Surgical treatment of tuberculosis is a routin procedure in this country. Bronchopleural fistulas are seen more commonly than avarage fistula rates in these cases. Thus, treatment of the complication is of great importance. Transsternal transpericardial closure of the fistula become a popular technique recently. We performed the technique in a case who had pneumonectomy becasue of tuberculosis. We also reviewed other surgical techniques for bronchopleural fistula closure.
