Lobar torsion occurs by rotation of a lobe around it’s own bronchovascular pedicle and generally seen as a complication of lobectomy. Dyspnea, tachycardia, hemoptysis and increased density in plain radiography are usual signs. We have seen 3 cases of lobar gangrene as lobectomy complication for last ten years. Two of them occurred in right middle lobe, one in left upper lobe. They were diagnosed within first two days and treated by resection of these lobes. Lobar torsion, although a rare complication, can be life threatening. It should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.
