Myxoma of the left atrium may obstruct either the mitral and pulmonary venous orifices and produce symptoms and manifestations of pulmonary hypertension. Complications include embolization, cyst and microabscess formation, syncope and sudden death. In rare cases, cardiac myxomas may appear in cojunction with primary nodular adrenal cortical disease, myxomatous mammary fibroadenomas, testicular tumors, or pituitary adenomas with gigantism or acromegaly. It is called Carneys syndrome.

In this article we present a case of left atrial myxoma with Carneys syndrome who was treated surgically and review the literature.
