Abstract

There were two traditional surgical techniques to repair atrioventricular septal defects. Because of the complexity of these traditional single- and two-patch techniques, a modified single-patch technique called as simplified single- patch technique was described in recent years, which avoids the use of any ventricular septal patch materials. In this article, we reviewed this simplified single-patch technique in the light of our clinical experience.
