Videothoracoscopic Surgery-Results

Videothoracoscopy has reached a firm place in thoracic surgery and with the advantages of minimally invasive surgery applied in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic diseases. 37 procedures were :, , conducted in 29 patients between June 1993 - June 1994 in our clinic. The procedure were: pleural biopsy (n=14), Thoracal sympatectomy (n=ll), bullectomy (n=4), parietal pleurectomy (n=3), Pericardial window (n=2), wedge resection (n=2), and nerilemmoma extirpation. Videothoracoscopy could not applied in öne cases because of dense adhesions. No emergency öpen thoracotomy was needed. Videothoracoscopy offers small insicion, less pain, and shorter hospital stay with the disadavantages of loss of 30 vision and palpation.
