Schwannomas are rare tumors of neural crest cell origin.
Most schwannomas occur in the head, neck and limbs.
Thoracic schwannomas are extremely rare and mostly
appear in the posterior mediastinum. There are few case
reports of anterior mediastinal schwannoma. In this article,
we report an anterior mediastinal schwannoma resected
using median sternotomy in an 29-years-old female who
presented with the complaint of dyspnea. In this article,
we aimed to review the literature and discuss the anterior
mediastinal localization of schwannoma.
