Fibromatosis which are among primary chest wall
tumors are rare chest wall lesions. Despite lack of known
etiological factors, several factors including trauma,
hormonal disorders, previous operations, genetic factors,
and Gardner syndrome has been considered to play a role
in the development of the disease. There are two main
groups according to facial or musculo-aponeurotic tissue
involvement. Extensive resection is of utmost importance
due to high local recurrence rate, despite benign nature of
the lesions. In recent years, radiotherapy following surgery
has been also recommended to prevent recurrences.
