Venous obstruction is caused by four basic mechanisms: thrombosis, fibrosis, compression, or invasion [4], Benign causes of superior vena caval obstruction are often mediastinal fibrosis and fungus (histoplasmosis) infection. Malign causes of superior vena caval obstruction are often bronchogenic carsinoma and other malign tumors [1,4]. Recently, the incidance of iatrogenic upper extremity venous obstruction which was caused by longterm used intravenous catheter, pacemaker electrod, has increased markedly and has become more important causes of obstruction [1,4].
