While atrial septal defect (ASD) is a common congenital heart
disease in children, it is the most common congenital heart
disease in adults. Percutaneous closure of ASD with 32 mm
Amplatzer septal occluder was performed to a 63-year-old
female patient. One hour after the percutaneous intervention,
atrial arrhythmias were detected, and echocardiographic
examination showed migration of the ASD closure device into
right atrium. In this article, we report the successful surgical
treatment and anesthetic management of the migration of
ASD closure device into right atrium after percutaneous ASD
closure procedure.
