Surgical Result Of Stage III-A NSC Bronchogenic Carcinomas

Between 1991-1996 46 patients (42 male, 4 female) were bronchial carcinoma except for NCSLC in Akdeniz University Hospital Thorcic Surgery Department: Mean age was 59.3. Thirty two had epidermoid ca, 5 adeno carcinoma, 4 large cell ca and 5 mix cell carcinoma. Stages were T2N2M0 in eighth, T3N0M0 in seventeen, T3N1M0 in six, T3N2M0 in fifteen. Pneumenectomy in twenty five, lobectomy in nineteen and wedge resection in two patients were performed. Extended resection as performed in thirty four of cases in 18 of these resection was extended to parietal pleura, wide thoracic all in 8, pericardial resection in 4, diaphragmatic resection in 2, thoracic wall and diaphragmatic resection in 2.

Early mortality was two whereas late mortality was nineteen. Follw up was between 3-40 months in twenty one. Two year survival was 42.1 %.
