Removal of Foreign Bodies from Tracheobroncheal Tree Analyses of 152 Cases

Between January 1986 and June 1994, it was performed bronchoscopic observation on 152 cases at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Ondokuz Mayıs University Medical Faculty. The range of the patients age was between 10 months and 70 years. The most cases were on the pediatric age group. Bronchoscopies were established with controlled ventilation under general anesthesia. The foreign bodies were seen and extracted on 189 patients (92%) throughout foreign body forceps. The most of the foreign bodies were beams (21.7%) and the pins using to adhere tesettür (19.7%) that use by Müslim female persons.
