Arterial Ligations in Inguinal Region (Analyses of 6 Cases)

Between June 1987 and June 1994, we obligated to break off the vascular continuous of the lower extremities of six patients by ligating their common femoral artery due to varies causes in Ondokuz Mayıs University Medical Faculty. All cases were male. Their age average was 34.8. It was placed a prosthetic graft on two patients du eto distal obstructive vascular disease, two cases due to femoral arterial injury and one case due to femoral pseudo aneurysm. Other case had saphenous vein graft in femoral arterial region. Because of graft infection and recurrent bleeding, the palliative therapy was given on all six cases. They were including to suture the anastomotic leaks, to give an antibiotic that sensitive to culturing bacteria and an aggressive management of the wounds. infection couldn't be removed. It was seen the prosthetic grafts occluded in the operation that was entered because of bleeding. Therefore, the grafts were removed by ligating their common femoral artery. They infection of the wound region relieved a short time (3-7 days). Amputation needed on nobody. We followed-up between 3 months and 7 years, average 39 months, and saw the patients asymptomatic.
