Methods: Ninty-two patients operated for hemodialysis access between December 2000 and August 2001 were evaluated retrospectively for the type of operation, early and late complications.

The complication rate was 11.9% and the most common complication was thrombus formation.
Conclusion: The aim should be to get long duration of patency and productivity of the arteriovenous fistula.
