Open Heart Surgery For Mitral İnsufficiency in a Child With Familial Mediterranean Fever

There is no specific association between familial Mediterranean fever and cardiovascular disease with the exception of cardiac amyloidosis. A six-year-old child with familial Mediterranean fever underwent mitral ring annuloplasty due to mitral insufficiency. Within a followup period of three months no complications occurred and the patient did not experience recurring bouts of fever due to familial Mediterranean fever.
