Traumatic diaphragmatic rupture is reported to occur in 0.5% to 6% of cases of blunt trauma. The majority (80-90%) of blunt diaphragmatic ruptures occur on the left side. A 32- year-old man who had a motor vehicle accident 10 years ago, was admitted to the hospital complaining from a stuffy nose. Routine chest radiograph demonstrated abnormality on the right-side. Computed tomography revealed herniation of the liver and intestines into the right side of the chest. During surgery, the colon, the liver and small intestine were observed in the right hemithorax. The diaphragm was repaired primarily. The patient did not have any postoperative complications and was discharged on the 8th postoperative day.
