We present this patient with multiple giant esophageal
leiomyoma, which was accidently diagnosed by chest
X-ray, due to its very rare and interesting nature. Four
big masses, including one that was 10x4.5x2 cm, and
many small encapsulated masses in the muscle layer of
esophagus were enucleated and totally excised via a right
thoracotomy. Leiomyomas can be asymptomatic, even
though they are multiple and very big size. In such cases,
enucleation via thoracotomy is an appropriate choice.
Closure of the esophageal muscle layer is advised to
prevent the postoperative complications.
