Sepsis and mediastinitis after heart transplantation: donor-transmitted Klebsiella infection

Early diagnosis and treatment of infection following heart
transplantation is a determinant factor for the prognosis.
However, it may easily be overlooked because of vague
clinical signs and non-specific laboratory findings as a
result of immunosuppression in these patients. Herein, we
present a case of donor-transmitted bacterial infection after
heart transplantation and its consequences.
