The disease may remain latent, even if there is a multiple
organ herniation in diaphragmatic hernias and cause
hypoplastic lung, as long as there is not an additional
problem affecting prognosis. In case of an additional
pathology, it may result in a life-threatening clinical
presentation. Therefore, an attentive examination and
detailed history would greatly help the clinician. During
routine pregnancy tests, dyspnea and intestinal complaints
should be questioned and abdomen and thorax should be
screened, as well, during the ultrasonic screening of the
pelvic area, if indicated.
