In this study, the incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction and predisposing factors were investigated in 300 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery. The incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction was %8.2 in our study group.

We analysed the risk factor, might predispose to perioperative myocardial infarction such as age, sex, diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, unstable angina, left main coronary artery lesion, the distal atherosclerotic nature of coronary lesions, endarterectomized arteries, aortic cross-clamp and cardiopulmonary bypass time. These factors were not statistically related with he risk of perioperative myocardial infarction.

In conclusion, we represented the incidence of myocardial infarction in aortocoronary bypass surgery nearly the same percentage in the other studies. We couldn’t observe any statistically important parameter on perioperative miyocardial infarction.

Related in recent studies, we also considered that endothelium dependent fibrinolytic capacity and cellular thrombotic reactions must be investigated carefully in the future.
