Between February - June 1994, modified ultra filtration performed in 7 patients after cessation of cardiopulmonary bypass with a specially designed circuit by which the blood is drawn
from the aortic canula and then pumped through an ultra filter and right atrium directly. By
this method, the haemotocrit values of the patients were rised from 19 - 24% to 33-35% by
ultra filtration of the 50-60% of previously calculated blood volume of the patients. The patients were kept normovolemic on average according to arterial pressure, central venous pressure and line pressure monitarization hence fluid excess was removed and the blood pressures were rised by 38 mmHg.
