Surgical treatment was performed on two cases with infected patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). The first case was 2.5 years old girl. In this case, echocardiography showed vegetations in the PDA. Surgical treatment was performed when no improvement was obtained with the medical treatment. The second case was 28 years old woman. In this case, multiple vegetations inside the pulmonary artery and a large vegetation on the pulmonary valve were detected by echocardiography. After one month of medical treatment, fever of the patient fell to normal and vegetations inside the pulmonary artery disappeared. However the large vegetation on the pulmonar valve was seen at te same size. The patient was taken to the open heart surgery to prevent the potantial risk of pulmonary embolism. The vegetation at the pulmonary valve was removed and ligation was performed on ductus. Both patients were asymptomatic during the longterm follow-up period.
