Dacron Graft Rupture (Case Report)

A 62-year old man was admitted to the hospital with acute ischemia in the right leg. He
had a history of Dacron Y graft reconstruction for aortoiliac atherosclerotic occlusive disease
8 years before admisson. At emergency operation, a smooth, yellow colored tümör of appo-
ximately 4 cm in diameter on the right limb of the bifurcated knitted Dacron graft was remo-
ved completely. A transverse tear in the right limb of the graft was found. After thrombec-
tomy, the graft was reconstructed with a polytetrafluoraetilen (PTFE) patch. His postope-
rative course was uneventful.
