Pediatric thoracic surgery, which had an important place and was so popular among thoracic surgeons in the first years of Thoracic Surgery, became the least popular branch in the course of time. For the last 20 years, the agenda of thoracic surgeons consists of lung pathology of adult patients, surgery and staging of malignant diseases and lung transplantation. Number of studies about pediatric thoracic surgery presented in the national and international meetings of thoracic surgery decreased. In the current article we tried to evaluate the course and causes of this alteration.
