A 58 year-old-man who had developed acute myocardial infarction 3 months ago was successfully treated surgically for a giant left ventricular pseudoaneurysm. The operation consisted of opening the sac of the pseudoaneurysm, closing the defect by a smaller pericardial patch, and over-and-over suturing the partially resected fibrous wall of the aneurysm. Associated moderate mitral regurgitation disappeared after the operation.
