Orthotopic heart transplantation in a two-year-old patient with dilated cardiomyopathy

Pediatric heart transplantation is indicated with end-stage
heart failure or complex inoperable congenital heart
defects. In this article, we report the first youngest (2 years
old) successfully pediatric heart transplantation after 25
years compared to literature indicating limited pediatric
donor pool and trained surgeon team. Our experience
suggests that heart transplantation of pediatric patients
requires multidisciplinary collaboration.
