Pulmonary inclusion is seen frequently in patients with staphylococcus aureus sepsis. At the infection of staphylococcus aureus clinical outcome may change radically and may cause serious complications. In this study we presented 4 cases with pneumonias due to staphylococcus aureus causing pulmonary or pleural complications so they had to be treated surgically at ‘’Kartal Education and Research Hosp.’’ and ‘’Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Center’’. Their ages were between 4 and 16 years and all were males. 2 cases were treated by tube thoracostomy, 1 case was treated by bilateral tube thoracostomy, 1 case was treated by tube thoracostomy followed by thoracotomy. Mortality didn’t occur in our patients. Hospitalization time was between 22 and 58 days (average 36.64 days). Stay in the surgical clinic was between 6 and 47 days (average 25 days). Intensive care unit and long term followup are critical at beingable to drop the high mortality rates in sepsis caused by staphylococcus aureus.
