In this article, we report a 35-year-old case with 28
weeks gestation who was admitted with effort dyspnea.
Anteroposterior chest X-ray revealed total atelectasis
in the left hemithorax. On bronchoscopic examination,
a tumoral lesion obstructing the left main bronchus
completely was observed and it was totally resected
with holmium:YAG laser. Repeated thoracic computed
tomography and bronchoscopy after birth were normal.
Standard treatment of endobronchial schwannoma is
surgery. However, endoluminal lesions, in particular, can
be treated with laser, electrocauterization, argon plasma
and mechanical resection. Surgical interventions should be
preferred if a residual tumor after endoscopic intervention
is detected or disease is recurred.
