Open endarterectomy can be used as an alternative
treatment method in patients with peripheral artery disease
accompanied by tissue loss and infection in case of an absent
saphenous vein. We believe that vascular surgeons should
keep in mind these methods for use in appropriate patients,
even if these methods have been overshadowed by the
growing endovascular techniques. In this article, we report
a 67-year-old male case with complete open endarterectomy
of superficial femoral artery which we performed.
