Sleeve Lobectomy and Bronchovascular Reconstruction for Lung Cancer

Left upper sleeve lobectomy and bronchovascular reconstruction were performed in a case with left upper lobe carcinoma which invaded left main bronchus and left pulmonary artery. T3N1M0 small cell carcinoma diagnosed with the findings of operation and histopathologic examination. Postoperative period was uneventful and adjuvant chemotherapy was given. Although this operative technique more difficult when compared with promonectomy, incidence of morbidity and mortality are not different or even lower; and either gives better quality of life and chance of resection in case of second primary lung cancer. Technical details and subjecst need special attention were discussed along with the literature.
