Complex Arrhythima Secondary Due to Cardiac Rhabdomyoma and It’s Surgical Treatment

Tumors of the heart are rare in children. Recently they acquired importance because of advances in diagnostic methods and surgical treatments.

In this study the patient was diagnosed as cardiac rhabdomyoma by fetal echocardiography dring prenatal period but not brought for controls in the early postnatal period was presented.

At two and half month old of age the patient was hospitalized because of cyanotic spell and complex cardiac arrhythima. Medical treatment was given for attacks of ventricular tachycardia.

Surgical intervention was decided a few days later because of unresponsiveness of the patient to medical treatment, and a tumor in the right ventricle was removed.

The patient is asemptomatic with no arrhythmia at 8 months postoperatively.
