The effects of synchronized cardiac and skin allograft transplantation on cardiac allograft survival was investigated in this study. Skin allograft transplant group (group I) was compared with cardiac allograft transplanted and skin autograft reimplanted goup (group II). Cardiac allograft survival was significantly increased in group I (p=0.0004). When methyl prednisolene combined with cardiac allograft and skin allograft trasplantation (group III) no stastical difference was observed as compared with cardiac allograft transplanted, skin autograft reimplanted and methyl prednisolone treated group (group IV) (p=0.1405) When Cyclosporin-A (Cy-A) combined with cardiac allograft and skin allograft transplantation (group V), cardiac allograft survival was significantly increased as compared with cardiac allograft transplanted, skin autograft reimplanted and Cy-A treated group (group VI) (p<0.0001). In conclusion, synchronized cardiac and skin allograft transplantation has significantly improved cardiac allograft survival.
