In case of coronary artery anatomic course variation, analizing the coronary artery angiographic findings properly is
important for definition of the vessel peroperatorily and
intervention to the vessel. In our study, we investigated prospectively origin variations of posterior descending (PD) artery which is primarily or secondarily critical in blood supply for interventricular septum and left ventricular apex, in 400 consecutive coronary bypass surgery cases. Eleven per cent cases which had PD artery origin variation were compared in angiography with the rest of cases. There was no statistically significant difference between cases among the age, sex, perioperatively myocardial infarction, cross clamp-bypass duration and arythmia incidence (p>0.05).
