Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a frequent complication after coronary artery bypass grafting and is a major cause of postoperative morbidity. The onset of atrial fibrillation was investigated in 132 consecutive patients retrospectively. AF occured at 25 patient (18.9%) and 22 patients treated with amiodarone infusion and achieved sinus rhytm (88%). Patiens with AF were more older and mediastinal drainage was much more, compared to patients with sinus rhytm. Preoperative use of beta blockers had decreased incidence of AF statisticaly.
