Pseudoaneurysm and concomittant aortobronchial fistula
formation following repair of coarctation with patchplasty is a rare but almost fatal if it is left untreated. Commonly,
hemoptysis is an initial symptom. It is a possible occurence in a patient undergone previous thoracal aortic intervention as a complication, but it should be considered and treated with
surgical intervention immediately. In this report, we
presented a 42 years old male who was operated for
coarctation of the aorta in another hospital 17 years ago and admitted to our institution with hemoptysis. A
pseudoaneurysm resulting from the previous aortic patch repair was revealed and surgical treatment was performed for aneurysm and fistula. The postoperative course was
uneventful and the patient was discharged without any
complaint.
