Transcutaneous Oxygen Tension Monitoring During Revascularization of the Lower Extremities

The first successful application of a transcatheter closure technique for patent ductus arteriosus in infants and children was performed by Rashkind in 1979. Since that time, there has ben continued improvement and simplification of the equipment as well as of the implantation technique. Now, this method is accepted as the treatment of choice by many centers. In this report we discuss patient selection, application and probable complications of this technique.
