Advantages of awake video-assisted thoracoscopic
surgery may be named as protection from risks of general
anesthesia and intubation, and decreasing the duration of
hospital stay and overall costs. In this article, we present a
31-year-old male patient who was performed bullectomy
with awake video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery under
sedation and thoracic epidural anesthesia with a diagnosis
of primary spontaneous pneumothorax. However, further
studies are needed to assess the overall risks and benefits.
