Myasthenia Gravis with its activity-restricting symptoms that may reach to life-threatening stages, is a notable entity. Although its etiology and the value of thymectomy has not been clearly defined, the results that have been achieved by pathophysiological studies effected the surgical indications positively and thus led to high remission rates. We have retrospectively studied 128 cases on the basis of age, sex, preoperative classification and symptoms as well as their relations to the prognosis along with the role of surgery. We have concluded that the preoperative classification, age and sex have no effects on remission. Surgery, with a 44.6% early, 73 % late and 90% total remission rate, has proven to be highly curative.
