Parsonnet risk scoring system which is constituted from preoperative parameters, was used for 200 consecutive patients with coronary artery disease. The average age of the group was 53.85±9.30 (min:31-max: 81) and the majority were men (83 % versus 17 %; p<0.005). Combined risk factor scores were compared for the morbidity, mortality, ICU stay, overall hospital length of stay and functional capacity of the patient according to NYHA classification at the discharge day. Statistical analysis identified significant association for patients, functional capacity (p<0.001), morbidity, mortality and ICU stay (p<0.05). As a conclusion this preoperative scoring system provides important information about the patients risk and the postoperative status.
