Methods: Two cases who received saphenofemoral loop arteriovenous access were evaluated. Both of them were operated before several times, all fistulas were thrombosed and no suitable site for fistula formation remained in the upper extremities. Under spinal anesthesia, they undergone saphenofemoral loop fistula access.
Results: The fistulas of the patients have revealed thrill postoperatively. No ischemia was detected on the lower extremities and peripheral pulses were palpable. They undergone hemodialysis without any problem.
Conclusion: Saphenofemoral loop fistula is a suitable access route in patients who has no other chance of upper extremity fistula. It also is cheaper than polytetrafluoroethylene access grafts with a lower risk of infection and thrombosis.
