In this prospective study performed for explaining the operative profit with objective criteria rather than clinical observations and relation between pulmonary function tests and lung perfusion scans, 72 patiens whose mean age 37.52 years were evaluated. Pulmoner scans and pulmonary function tests were performed both preoperatively - and postoperatively. Both FEV1 and scans increased after thoracotomy and increasing were correlated each other. In conclusion, if operation causes improvement in FEV1 then one can expect increasing in lung perfusion.
