Approach to solitary pulmonary nodules
Approach to solitary pulmonary nodules
GATA Haydarpaşa Eğitim Hastanesi Göğüs Hastalıkları Kliniği, İstanbul
A solitary pulmonary nodule is radiologically defined as
an intraparenchymal lung lesion that is smaller than 3 cm
in diameter. The goal of the evaluation of solitary pulmonary
nodules is to differentiate benign from malignant
lesions noninvasively and as accurately as possible. In
patients with a high probability of malignancy, surgery is
the preferred strategy. In this paper, the approach to solitary
pulmonary nodules is reviewed.
