Pain in cardiac surgery and the nursing approach

Pain is a universal experience that everybody experiences
during some period of their lifetime. However, some
diagnostic and treatment procedures in healthcare cause
patients to suffer from long-term and severe pain. Cardiac
surgery is one of these procedures. In this article, the
causes of pain, the effects of pain on the patient and pain
relief approaches in cardiac surgery are discussed.
