Mini-tracheotomy is a safe and effective method in the prevention and treatment of postoperative sputum retention and atelectasis. It can be applied under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. Minitracheotomy-related complications are usually preventable and are rare. In this article, we present the outcomes of Mini-Trach II® Portex Seldinger kit application technique under the guidance of rigid bronchoscopy in patients with atelectasis and sputum retention after lung resection.
