A 45-year-old male patient was admitted to our department
for the management of a symptomatic atrial septal defect.
A septal defect repair together with tricuspid annuloplasty
was performed. After surgery, a continuous murmur was
heard on auscultation. Transthoracic echocardiography
showed an aorto-right atrial fistula below the annuloplasty
suture. This is the first reported case of a fistula between
the aorta and right atrium after tricuspid annuloplasty.
