Sometimes, decision of amputation is quite difficult
due to high mortality and morbidity in extremity
traumas with vascular component. Therefore, several
scoring systems have been developed. We retrospectively investigated the competence of Johansen Scoring, which is one of the scoring systems mentioned
above, in the decision of amputation in 28 cases
administrated to our emergency service between
August 1992 and July 1997, and we observed that
there is a specificity of 68% and a sensitivity of 91%.
