By the beginning of cardiac surgery and the first valve replacement operation by Hufnagel in 1951, advancing valve technology valve replacement procedures advanced. Although advancing technology creates low profile and more biocompetible valves even now the perfect valve cannot be created. We investigated our results for Sorin bileaflet mitral valve replacement series for the recent 8 years by literature research. In short and midterm results we conclude that these valves are reliable for replacement.
