elderly patients, only 4-5 % of them is seen in the
first 20 years of life [

as epithelial, sarcomatous and mixed types
histopathologically [
The girl was 8-years-old, who prensented with
pleural effusion and pleural thickening in the basal
Ieft lung field. Decortication and pleural effusion
drainage by left lateral thoracotomy vvas performed.
Pathological examination revealed sarcomatoid type
of malign pleural mesothelioma. in this case report
we have reviewed the literature.
Although these tumors generally have a weak
response to chemo- and radiotherapy, we believe
that close follow-up and radical surgery on time can
improve the patients quality of life and increase their
survival.
